Addressing Demand

Ending sexual exploitation means we must address the demand for paid sex. If there were no demand, there would be no supply.

According to Canada’s prostitution legislation, the Protection of Communities and Exploited Persons Act, enacted in December, 2014, It is an offence to purchase sexual services or communicate with anyone for the purpose of purchasing sexual services, in any location.

Demand Abolition exists to end commercial sexual exploitation by ending demand for paid sex.

“In 2007, Eaves and Prostitution Research and Education (PRE) began a study of the attitudes and behavioural patterns of men who use women in prostitution. The following is the report based on this study in the United Kingdom.”

There are specific actions that men and boys can do to end the demand for paid sex.

1. Challenge the glamorization of pimps in our culture.
