Choose Change
The goal of the Choose Change campaign is to reduce the ease of access to violent, sexually explicit images. Today’s “adult content” is misogynistic, violent, degrading, racist, and normalizes rape culture.
In response to the growing body of evidence that online pornography is contributing to a public health crisis, we are asking the public to join us in “Challenging the harms of sexually violent images.” We are asking the public to contact certain companies to encourage them to change detrimental practices and to embrace practices that will promote the overall health of Canadians.
We will be celebrating organizations who have or will make these positive changes by highlighting them on our Change Maker List.

Buying Sex is a Crime
Sexual exploitation is a crime, and it is often hidden. Those who are being exploited may not see themselves as victims, and may not come forward to law enforcement because of fear of retaliation from their exploiters/traffickers by way of threats to themselves and/or to their families, because of mistrust of police, lack of awareness of legal rights; feelings of embarrassment and humiliation; drug addiction; and financial debt to traffickers.
Past Campaigns
Today’s pornography is harmful to children because it is violent, misogynistic and addictive. As parents and as society, we must work to protect our children from porn’s harms. Pornography is easily accessible due to Smart phones, tablets and public Wi-Fi. Therefore, we must work hard to ensure the safety of our children from the dangers of accessing pornography.
